Physical activity is an essential part of maintaining a healthy and independent lifestyle for people of all ages; unfortunately, however, many people find that their level of physical activity diminishes as they get older.
 
In order to address this COTA Seniors Connect has developed two programs aimed at increasing the availability and accessibility of fitness opportunities amongst older people.
 
Positives of Being Active:
Get Going Stay Active  encourages older South Australians to become more active by referring them to fitness classes in their area, promoting the creation of new classes where there is a need, and developing and enhancing existing services.
 
Strength for Life  promotes the benefits of strength training to people over 50 and trains and endorses fitness providers throughout South Australia to run strength training sessions.
