The
Get Going Stay Active program, co-funded by COTA Seniors Connect and the
Office for Recreation and Sport, aims to promote health and well-being amongst people over 50 by increasing availability and awareness of fitness classes within the community.
The program encourages older South Australians to become more active by referring them to low cost fitness classes in their area. The program is also able to refer people graduating from rehabilitation to appropriate classes. Where there is a need the program promotes the creation of new classes or development of existing services by linking organisations and instructors to programs.
COTA Seniors Connect works with Councils, Aged Care Facilities, Health Professionals, Community Organisations, Therapy Services and Fitness Instructors to promote the benefits of being active to older South Australians and to develop services to deliver these benefits.
