Location: Burra/Mid North

Departing Flinders Street at 8:30am. Travel via the Barrier Highway passing through Roseworthy and Tarlee.  Break for morning tea/coffee at Riverton then onto Saddlworth, Manoora and Burra.   
 
Enjoy a local guided tour of many early National Trust buildings including the Bura Mine, Police Lockup, Miner's Dugouts, Paxton Square Cottages and Redruth Gaol - the location for the film Breaker Morant.
 
Lunch is a 2 course meal at the Kooringa Hotel.
 
Return to the City approx. 5:15pm.

Our Waterways Clayton and Milang

Location: Clayton and Milang

Departing from 31 Flinders Street at 9am, travelling to Clayton. 
 
Out guide will tell us about the waterways in the Currency Creek, Goolwa, Finniss, Clayton, Milang adn Lake Alexandrina Areas as well as advising about the measures being taken, including placement of regulators to deal with falling water levels in Lake Alexandrina.  Morning tea/coffee will be served at a suitable spot.
 
Moving on to Milang we will enjoy a 2 course lunch at the Pier Hotel, followed by a short tour of the town and a visit to the Alexandrina Crafts Shop before departing for the city.  Returning by an alternative route we will arrive back at approx. 4:45pm.   Today we will have seen the effects of the drought on the River Murray and Lakes.
